Hot Tip for Dance Teams

The Process:
About twenty to thirty minutes before the performance, I find a quiet room, and have my partner(s) and/or team members lay on the ground on their backs, comfortably close their eyes, and turn on the performance music. While their eyes are closed, I tell them to picture in their mind's eye walking on the stage. I describe the enormous audience in front of them, and feel the heat and glare of the stage lights. I describe the anticipation from both the audience and team, and the AMAZING BLAST of energy from us as we are about to put on the show of our lives. As the music starts, we envision every step, every foot pattern, every shine and every hand flair executed FLAWLESSLY to ABSOLUTE perfection.

When the routine is over, we visualize the audience rising to their feet and roaring with cheers and applause. We picture fans coming up to the stage and pounding on it wanting more. We see each person coming up to us after the show and congratulating us on an incredible performance, and booking us for more gigs in the future.

I then turn on the lights, and we do it again, a SECOND time...

But this time, for real.

... this time we are not nervous
... this time we have no jitters
... this time we do it for the LOVE of winning.

... this time we are in "The Zone"

... this time we tear the floor in half with our New Found POWER.

... this time, we "Are" True Champions
- and on PURPOSE!!
